3. Collective Noun :: A collective noun the special name give to a
group or collection.
Ex. - People, Machinery, Jury etc.

Collective noun is also a part a noun is divided in to three forms-
A) Generalising collective noun
B) Group collective noun
C) Distributive collective noun

A) Generalising Collective Noun :: A collection that is made of different kinds of members is called Generalising collective noun. Ex. - Scenery, Machinery, Jewellery etc.

Facts ::
1. It is a singular and gets singular verb.
2. S/es does not come with it.
Ex. -
The machinery are very old. (w)
The machineries are very old. (w)
The machinery is very old. (r)

B.) Group Collective Noun :: A collection that is made of the same kinds of members is called group collective noun.
Ex. - People, Public, Genyry, Pesantry, Cavalry, Cattle etc..

Facts ::
1. It is a plural and gets plural verb.
2. s/es does not come with it.
Ex. -
The peasantry of this village is very laborious. (wrong)
The peasantries of this village are very laborious. (wrong)
The peasantry of this village are very laborious. (right)

[note(hindi me) : dhyan de Ki people ka use country Ke liye bhi kiya jata hai is stithi me is common noun ka sharp mate hue people ko people's me badly Ja sakta hai.]
Ex-
India is a people of Asia. (right)

C.) Distributive Collective Noun :: A collection that's members are either unanimous or different in opinion there is no centrality for it is called Distributive collective Noun.
Ex. - Jury, Committee, Parliament etc.

Facts ::
1. If its members are unanimous it makes or singular formation and gets singular verb.
Ex. -
The committee have taken a bold step in this case.(Wrong)
The committee has taken a bold step in this case.(right)

2. If its members are different in opinion its make a plural formation and gets plural verb.
Ex. -
The committee has not taken any bold step in this case. (wrong)
The committee have not taken any step in this case. (right)

3. S/es does not with its.
